There are many good men and women behind prison walls, paying for crimes they have committed. We do not feel they should not be held accountable for these crimes. Everyone should be held accountable for their actions. The Bible teaches we will all reap exactly what we sow.We are also all aware that sin always extracts a higher price than any of us are able to pay. That is exactly why Jesus came and freely gave His life on the cross so whosoever will can come and be set free from every sin. Jesus loves every sinner and shed His blood for their sins, even those behind prison walls.
Our vision for this part of this ministry is to do what we can to reach the forgotten men and women behind prison walls. Jesus saves from the lowest to the highest. Jesus saved me and He can save anyone else that will accept Him.
We would like to reach these incarcerated men and women so they can serve the Lord while they continue to serve their sentence. Salvation can enable them to be model prisoners, even helping other inmates know the joy of knowing Jesus. Then, those that are released can become more stable and productive citizens.
B. - PRISON MINISTRY
OUTREACH:
There are many ideas about reaching this part of society but nothing is as powerful and effective as the Word of God. The Word of God has a way of speaking to us, regardless of who we are and where we are. It has touched the very hearts of Kings and Emperors as well as the lowest and poorest and all in between. We have ordained Elders that go regularly to minister to those behind prison bars. Almost every week souls are saved and lives are changed. This personal ministry is valuable. It is a most rewarding ministry to see someone's son, daughter, husband or wife accept Jesus and change the course of their life forever.
There are other ways you and I can be effective in helping these hurting people. We can provide Bibles, Newsletters that will strengthen their faith, Ministry tapes that allow them to hear the Word over and over and even share with others, Books that will teach many valuable lessons on living a life of victory even where they are.
Our vision for outreach doesn't stop here. Think of the hurting wives, children, parents, and even husbands of those who are incarcerated. They need help also. I cannot imagine the anguish they must be going through. We want to minister to them. Many of them would appreciate a Bible or a personal letter on a regular basis from someone who really cares. Many may appreciate a monthly ministry tape and other helpful literature.
C. - PRISON MINISTRY STORIES:
There are many interesting stories that can be told and we will be adding new ones regularly. One that touched my heart was about a young man now in prison. He is now saved and working with our Elders in the prison ministry. In spite of the fact he is serving the Lord and doing well spiritually, he was recently denied parole. The interesting thing about this young man is, even while he is locked behind prison walls, he has been a witness for Christ, both inside and out.
He has been instrumental in his mother, grandmother, brother, sister in law, a nephew, and a niece getting into a good Bible teaching church. Only eternity will tell the good this young man and many others are doing to point others to the saving power of Jesus Christ.
D. - HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE:
This is simple. God intends for us to be workers together. I think of many great churches across this great land of ours. Thank God for the ministers the Lord has put over these great churches as the under shepherd but I know how difficult, how impossible their job would be without faithful, praying, giving, working men and women. Moses needed someone to hold up his hands. In fact, Israel prevailed in battle because someone held up the hands of Moses. The scripture teaches a vital principal when it stated, one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand to flight. Think what ten could do, think about one hundred. See the principal the Lord is teaching here. If you would be a partner with me, I will be able to accomplish ten times what is now being accomplished. YOU can make a very big difference! I would appreciate if you would let me know today you are praying for this effort.
E. - PRISON MINISTRY APPEAL:
We are doing all we can with what we have to do with.
FIRST, we need your prayer support.
Prayer is a vital necessity in a ministry like this.
Prayer will move the hand of God and prepare the hearts of men and women who would otherwise be so hardened no one could help them. They need help desperately and the enemy has blinded their eyes to this need.
PLEASE PRAY!
Pray for these like they were your own.SECOND, we have had Bibles donated to us but we cannot keep enough.
We need hundreds of dollars to purchase several cases of Bibles.
The Word is truth and truth sets people free from every stronghold the enemy has built up in their lives.
We publish a quarterly newsletter filled with sermons and testimonies of answered prayer.
We need to publish more of these newsletters as well as monthly instead of quarterly.
We want to be able to pay the salary of a minister so he could devote full time in this ministry instead of only a few hours each month.
I can see the results a part time minister is accomplishing, I long to be able to put a full time minister in this much needed field of labor.
